Bob and I want to wish all of our friends a safe, happy and healthy New Year.

This year has been a year of challenges and opportunities for the SELDEN CADETS ALUMNI CORPS that has been welcomed with energy, dedication and enthusiasm.

From the start of 2008 to now, the year has flown by and is now settling into history. The Bugler's Hall of Fame Shows were the turning point for the corps. From the moment that SELDEN stepped forward onto the stage at the first BROOKLYN UNITED SHOW in 2006 and re entered the drum corps activity, the corps was grateful for the opportunity to do what it loves to do best, and that is to provide solid drum corps entertainment. We were grateful too, for the chance to perform at the TOURNAMENT OF STARS show hosted by the Bayonne, BRIDGEMEN this August.

Now, SELDEN is entering it's fifth year in an activity that is struggling to continue in an environment in which, to say the least is difficult, for the drum corps to prevail. It is to the credit of those who are truly dedicated, that this activity continues to exist. We owe these fine people, those marching members who have never left the activity, the ones who came out of retirement to return to the world of drum corps, the supporters who work in the background to keep this activity functioning, and the corps directors, business managers and support teams who keep it going.

This activity could not exist; however, without the support of all those who have ever sat in the stands at a drum corps show and were enthralled by the grace, power and precision of a drum corps presentation.

This year, the challenges that all of the marching arts face is enormous and, if we are to continue to enjoy this activity, we must support it in any way that we can.

It is your applause that fuels the energy that is drum corps.
